According to a new study, starting the day with a cup of green tea is a useful suggestion for intellectual workers.
A group of authors from the University of Environmental and Occupational Health, Chitose Institute of Science and Technology, and the Central Research Institute of Japan point out the special impact of green tea on the human brain.
According to an article published in the scientific magazine Scientific Report, 20 male volunteers aged 18-30 completed the “Subjective feeling of fatigue” questionnaire and “Stress at work” questionnaire.
Then, they were given green tea or a placebo, warm water, as a control.
In the next step, everyone was asked to do a 5-minute mental calculation exercise. Three separate tests were also administered to assess aspects of the ability to perform mentally demanding tasks.
The process of drinking tea – performing the task was repeated 3 times.
Participants also had detailed measurements of 11 physiological responses during the experiment, including changes in heart rate, respiration, brain signals, oxygen saturation, blood flow to tissues, etc.
The results showed that drinking green tea significantly reduced signs of stress and increased performance on mental tasks.
This shows that drinking green tea before and during work can help mental workers work more effectively and reduce fatigue.
Even the stimulation from the aroma of green tea alone creates beneficial physiological reactions.
Many studies have proved green tea to have antioxidant, antibacterial, cholesterol-reducing, and energy-conserving effects, thereby helping to prevent a series of diseases such as high blood pressure, diabetes, and cancer. Bowel and stomach cancer…
